  • 13 Good bacteria strains including S. boulardii

There are 100 trillion good bacteria inside the digestive tract, living in perfect balance. Once ingested, to exert their effect, microorganisms need to survive the harsh environment in the upper GI tract and colonize in the lower intestines and colon. Many environmental factors - like diet, stress, smoking, or lifestyle and seasonal changes - may disturb the balance of gut flora, but most aggressive of all are antibiotics. Good bacteria strains in our formula are selected for their resilience in the harsh conditions that may occasionally occur in the GI tract. All bacterial strains in our formula are well-studied for scientifically documented function.

ChocoPROBI is made with 13 scientifically studied strains of live cultures, specially designed to deliver good bacteria, along with vitamins A, C, D and Iodine to support your children’s’ health and normal growth development. The strains in ChocoPROBI divide quickly and double their mass approximately at 20-minute intervals.

Lactobacilli

Lactobacilli

Lactobacilli are a large genus of friendly bacteria that are an important part of the microbial ecosystem in the colon, and that normally inhabit the gastrointestinal tract. They produce substances and metabolites like bacteriocins, hydrogen peroxide and organic acids, such as lactic acid, which is mainly fermented to butyrate, the key nutrient for the epithelial cells of the gut mucosa. Lactobacilli are one of the most widely used good bacteria in food supplements. They have a high tolerance to gastric acid and bile, and a capability to adhere to intestinal surfaces. ChocoPROBI contains a total of 7 strains of Lactobacilli, which contribute to strain diversity of the formula. They are well-studied, and some come with highest level of recommendation of European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) and World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO).

Bifidobacteria

Bifidobacteria

Bifidobacteria are y-shaped bacteria, and the first microbes to colonize the human gastrointestinal tract, and that produce several nutrients and metabolites, like short chain fatty acids and vitamins.  Researchers have identified more than 50 species of bifidobacterium, with different functions. Bifidobacterium strains of human origin are capable of synthesizing essential vitamins (like K2) and certain B vitamins (like thiamine, riboflavin, pyridoxine, folic acid, biotin, and nicotinic acid).
The bifidobacteria strains in ChocoPROBI (B. breve, B. longum ssp infantis, B. longum, B. bifidum and B. lactis) are among the most well-studied Bifido strains used in food supplements.

Saccharomyces boulardii

Saccharomyces boulardii

Saccharomyces boulardii is a life yeast named after Henri Boulard, the scientist who first isolated it from lychee and mangosteen fruit in 1920. Clinical studies demonstrate its multiple mechanisms of action. With its resistance to digestion, S. boulardii is a unique microorganism; it survives gastric acidity and colonizes the intestinal tract. It also produces polyamines and bacteriocins, and studies have shown that S. boulardii is naturally resistant to antibiotics, since they don’t interfere with its metabolism.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is an essential vitamin for healthy bones, muscles and teeth. The role of Vitamin D in maintaining normal immune function is well studied. Since the discovery of the Vitamin D receptor - expressed by almost all cells of the immune system, its role in the function of immune system behaviour and interactions has received increasing attention. Our body creates Vitamin D from cholesterol in the skin when it’s exposed to the direct sunlight, and though there are natural sources of Vitamin D, they are limited only to a small number of foods. That is why  additional supplementation is necessary to maintain healthy levels of Vitamin D.

Vitamin C

Vitamina C

Vitamin C (also known as L-ascorbic acid) is water-soluble vitamin. It is a powerful antioxidant, contributing to the normal function of the immune system, the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and the increase of iron absorption. It also contributes to normal psychological and nervous function. Because children's growing bodies are not able to produce Vitamin C on their own, the UK Department of Heath recommends supplementation of Vitamin C to all children up to the age of 5 years. Vitamin C plays a key role in healthy bone formation and in keeping tissues of our body in good shape.

Vitamin A

prebiotics

Vitamin A (also known as “the vitamin of growth”) was the first vitamin discovered after scientists found this ingredient in both egg yolk and butter, and determined it was responsible for the growth of animals. Vitamin A exists in two forms: retinol and carotin (provitamin A, which converts to Vitamin A in the body). Retinol is an antioxidant needed by the immune system that supports eyesight and has an excellent effect on skin.

Iodine

prebiotics

Iodine is an essential trace element vital for the normal growth and development of the body. About 60% of iodine in the human body is stored in the thyroid gland. Iodine controls the functioning of the thyroid gland and contributes to normal production of thyroid hormones, which in turn has a significant impact on metabolic processes in the body. It also supports normal energy-yielding metabolism. The role of iodine in brain development is critical during the first 1000 days. It contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system, normal growth and cognitive function.
